oh i can promise words words words but will they make any sense, stay tuned

so shocking heiji is one of hershel's closest friends here?? he's actually been kind of instrumental in helping hershel develop more self confidence so thanks for that bud, i remember when they first met too it was them trying to help the people in the elevators which pretty much cemented hershel respecting him. heiji just has a kind of gungho way of going about being in a murdergame that he both admires and worries about- yes, heiji, he's still not sold on the nah it's fine murder is fine i'm fine thing

i think at first he was unconsciously drawn to heiji because heiji's a lot like randall energywise, but heiji's also just. a better friend. sorry randall. for example whether he remembers it or not hershel's sort of used to following and ultimately just acquiescing to what randall wanted to do so he went into a lot of friendships here with that attitude of letting people sort of get their way is how friendship works, right?? but heiji actually encourages him a lot to follow his own gut on things and listens to his opinions with a lot of respect and is just generally less about guilting/pushing him to do stuff and more like COME DO THIS HERE'S REASONS and having him decide himself. so. essentially what i'm saying whether he ever realizes it or not heiji's kind of made him re-evaluate how friendship works which is good thank you heiji

the way heiji deals with tense situations is something he respects a lot too, like heiji tends to take charge when he needs to and when no one else is stepping up. he's kind of like an effortless leader in a lot of ways and that's seriously something hershel admires about him. he sort of looks at heiji and sees someone who's done so much already, despite being young, and that's just. really cool to him.

i guess it's like heiji really has become his best friend here so to speak, the goofy bullshit they do and the stupid talks and the shitlording, it's like such a teenage, regular friendship in a weird place. he'd have a hard time admitting heiji's like his best friend now, especially after remembering randall shit, but it's absolutely a thing that's probably pretty obvious to anyone who cares to look. heiji's one of the three people he basically trusts implicitly right now, he just could not imagine heiji being a mole or bad or whatever, that's like an impossible thing to him. so don't die either??? no more near explosions??

i feel like there's more i may add if i remember but that's a huge chunk ENJOY
