Sasuke is a very polite and kind young man. In a lot of respects, Sasuke is probably a younger version of the scholars and academics Snake usually hangs around so there's that. Sasuke is also quiet, which is a nice contrast to his very opinionated and occasionally loud boyfriend.
Snake also wants to look after Sasuke in the sense that he is a younger person, even younger than his sister. Snake misses a little bit of being that older sibling and providing a good example to follow. Snake would like to talk to Sasuke more, but understands that Sasuke is a private kind of person. Still, when they can get together and have little Japanese lessons, it does make Snake happy.
As for that unfortunate knife incident, Snake has long forgiven Sasuke. He is quite unpleased that Sasuke believes that he might be a tool for assassination. It's just something that Snake has a hard time believing a family could do to their child. He would like to remove Sasuke from such a toxic atmosphere but isn't sure how to do that. Yet.
