after vivarium

after vivarium!

It may have been weeks, months, or even years, but finally, everyone makes it out of the warehouse just fine. The authorities have broken in and let everyone out, or maybe the characters managed to escape on their own. Either way, Zero and Calhoun vanish without a trace and they still haven't been caught to this day. It's infuriating, but the important part is that they're now free. What exactly entrails after that ending though?

How to Play:
✖ Make a top-level comment, either blank or filled with some info/prose.
✖ Tag others, whether it's shortly after the escape or much later.
✖ Action, text, video, whatever, it's all good.
✖ Have multiple threads?
✖ Done!

[Hershel sighed softly, glancing around to make sure they weren't disturbing anyone. They got enough strange looks, it wasn't every day a guy like Jake stumbled into a class like this. It was long enough now that most people were over the novelty of it, or so he hoped. Thankfully Schrader was an odd enough bird that he didn't seem all that phased when a merc came into his class.]

You know why. [Randall's memory, dude. Healthy stuff.] Besides, this is the history of western culture itself, surely you find that a little interesting?

[Jake definitely didn't look like the kind of guy who would pull out a gun if a bird hit a window.]

That's because you aren't even trying to listen I bet. [Tsk tsk. He glances over at Schrader writing some name and date on the board before looking back to Jake.] Alright, I have the rest of the afternoon off after this, what would you rather do then?

[I'm a little hung up on it, you're a weird, weird dude.]

Don't be rude to Professor Schrader, he's quite good at his job. [Not going to mention what a weirdo he is too, better not to give Jake ammo.] That sounds alright though, a break from campus food would be nice.

[I can't say you're wrong.]

Jake- [He looks stubborn a moment before sighing and doormatting. He was barely paying attention once their conversation started anyway, might as well. He pulls his things together, probably throwing Clark a sort of 'can I borrow your notes later' look, wherever the guy was sitting, and starts to leave quietly. Hopefully Schrader wouldn't notice.

When they're out of the classroom he just gives Jake A Look.]
Honestly, twenty minutes was as long as you could manage? It wasn't even half the class.

[He absolutely did and probably gave them a weird look as they left. He'd have to explain this later, thanks Jake, you're a pal...]

I suppose that makes sense... you know it's still not too late to give schooling another go. [Hershel says, probably again, as he puts some of his books and papers away in his bag.] You could get a well paying career in something that doesn't involve you almost dying all the time.

[He can dream. He starts down the hall.] Any preference on where you'd like to go?

I think it's exactly as bad as I make it out to be. [Have a raised brow, how many people even knew mercs?? Him, apparently. What a life.] If you had to go back to school, what do you think you'd study?

[He offers a small laugh] Don't worry, I don't have Alfendi's taste in bad fast food. There's a cafe down the street, Clive and I go there sometimes.

[Everyone uncomfortably wonders if he hired mercs before or something. Who is this boy, really.]

What do I think you could go into? [He pauses, considering for a long moment as he heads where they need to go.] Languages would be good, you're quite proficient at them. There's quite a few private and public positions that could use that kind of skill. Of course there's things like law enforcement, though I'm not sure that'd suit you.

[He does kind of have a criminal history.] There's plenty you could teach too, guns, self defense, the works.
