It may have been weeks, months, or even years, but finally, everyone makes it out of the warehouse just fine. The authorities have broken in and let everyone out, or maybe the characters managed to escape on their own. Either way, Zero and Calhoun vanish without a trace and they still haven't been caught to this day. It's infuriating, but the important part is that they're now free. What exactly entrails after that ending though? How to Play: ✖ Make a top-level comment, either blank or filled with some info/prose. ✖ Tag others, whether it's shortly after the escape or much later. ✖ Action, text, video, whatever, it's all good. ✖ Have multiple threads? ✖ Done!

Heiji's voice, as usual, was warm and lilting when he spoke to Snake in his native language. "Wow, you still don't know? I'm having a second clock sent over there just so ya can keep track of the time."

Then he switched to English. "Whatcha callin' about? I'm coming over to see you next week, ya know."

*It was a measure of Snake's language skills that he understood all that. He's trying!*

Just letting you know that I'm counting down the hours to see you again. Your parents all right letting you attend college overseas?

"Well, my mom wasn't crazy about it, but I got her to agree. My dad just grumbled somethin' about me getting ahead of myself, so I guess he's fine with it."

He leaned instinctively into the phone as he spoke, even though of course Snake was far across the ocean. "...I miss you."

I miss you too. *One week and they'd have all the time to make up for the time they'd been apart. Oh yes.*

Heiji's smile was practically audible. "Aww, he was actin' all cold about it as usual, but I know he's totally gonna miss me. I'll just have to cheer him up when I'm on break. Say, how's your studying going? You're not slackin' off, are you?"

Really, Heiji. *How offensive to even think of!* I submitted my thesis for a preliminary review. Then if there are any major revisions, I fix them up and send it for a final review. So your visit comes at the best time.

"I'm just teasin' ya a little. You work too hard, you know." He lowered his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. If Snake had this call on speaker phone, it was going to be rather suspicious.

"So what do you have planned?"

Well, I have a number of things we can do, but it depends on your mood. *Snake's voice lowered.* Clover is going on a little trip with some friends so we'll have the apartment to ourselves.

Heiji brought the phone receiver in close, matching the tone of his voice to Snake's.

"In that case, maybe we should spend a couple of nights at home? And get... reacquainted?" Someone hand him his goddamn scarlet letter.

*Only if you gave Snake a library full of them.* I think that would be an excellent way of spending our time. Traveling during the day and retiring home at night.

"...I'd like that a lot," he said, smiling. "Okay. I'm gonna hang up now, but I'll mail over my itinerary. ...I'll give ya a present when we see each other again."

A present in the form of a nice, long kiss, that was.

All right. *He couldn't end the call there though, so Snake decided to surprise Heiji.* I love you and I'll be waiting for you.
